ReadMe.txt ActivityChanger Version 1.5 2002-11-23 (YYYY-MM-DD) (this is an Add-On for Microsoft Train Simulator 1.0) by Torben Spiegler (ActivityChanger@Juliane-und-Torben.de), Germany Homepage: http://msts.Juliane-und-Torben.de (latest version available for download on homepage) ****************************************************************** * * * * * JAVA Runtime Environment is required for the operation * * * * of this program. You can obtain it at: * * * * http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/download-windows.html * * * * If you use Sky! Conductor from How in the World, Inc. * * (http://www.howintheworld.com great weather-AddOn) * * JAVA Runtime Environment is already installed. * * * * * ****************************************************************** Moin, moin! (something like "hello" here in northern germany ;) I was frequently annoyed by the difficulty of modifying the timetable of an activity in MSTS, since the starting times for the computer-controlled trains all must be individually modified by hand. ActivityChanger executes this process fully automatically, simply by changing the Start Time of the Activity. Another feature is "rounding the player timetable" for more realistic arrival and departure times, since real trains do not start at 8:15:53 but at 8:16:00! You can round all of the arrival and departure times to the nearest 10, 15, 30 or 60 seconds with one button! And you can also change the season and the weather. A backup copy is created, so you can back up to the original activity before Activity Changer was invoked when desired. The backup-files are named ...\Activities\ActivityName.act.ORIGINAL_Activity_Changer ...\Traffic\TrafficName.trf.ORIGINAL_Activity_Changer Since Activity Changer must also modify the "traffic pattern files" in the Traffic Directory which are associated with the modified activity, there are side-effects to other activities which use the same traffic-file. You may wish to create traffic files unique to the activites with which you want to use Activity Changer. INSTALLATION: ************* Typically the setuproutine installs the program to ...\Train Simulator\ActivityChanger The directory can by changed if you want, but if you want an easy access to activities-directories, you should use this standard. START ActivityChanger: ********************** Use the icon in start menu entry ActivityChanger. Alternatively, as well as for problems, you can use ...\Train Simulator\ActivityChanger\start.bat IF the following happens: ********************************* When starting ActivityChanger, a window emerges very briefly and then immediately disappears. This means that the JavaRuntimeEnvironment is missing!!!! Java must be installed. You can download it here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/download-windows.html or together with the ActivityChanger on my homepage (the 9MB version). DO NOT abort the installation of Java after the installation of the ActivityChangers! DELETE: ******* If you want to delete ActivityChanger use the icon "Uninstall ActivityChanger" in the start-menu. The file is located here: ...\Train Simulator\Uninstall ActivityChanger.exe or delete the whole directory: ...\Train Simulator\ActivityChanger -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- This program is freeware.
